He authored the famous phrase \u201cwall of separation between Church and State\u201d in his correspondence to the Danbury Baptists. Jefferson was also essential in protecting religious freedom in Virginia through his authorship of the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom. This document was one of his most important achievements, and a document of which he was especially proud.
